Best Use of Local Produce Award
Eric’s restaurant is toasting another top title after winning the award for Best Use of Local Produce at the 2014 Deliciouslyorkshire Awards.
Eric’s beat off stiff competition from restaurants across Yorkshire to pick up the award, which was presented at a ceremony on 15th October at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
Deliciouslyyorkshire Judges made mystery visits to each establishment shortlisted in the category to decide on the winner based on the quality and presentation of the menu, staff knowledge and customer experience. Eric’s was praised for being a “great place using great local and seasonal ingredients in dishes that showcase them, with the judges also stating that they “couldn’t fault the quality of the food.”
Eric Paxman, chef and proprietor said: “Using local produce is at the heart of everything we do, so to be recognised at these coveted awards is a fantastic achievement for the whole team.
“All of our menus are seasonal, changing every quarter to enable us to use the very best local ingredients and produce the highest quality dishes. We pride ourselves on this approach, which wouldn’t be possible without the excellent local suppliers we have here in Huddersfield.”
The annual Deliciouslyyorkshire awards celebrate the region’s diverse food and drink scene, putting the spotlight on the very best food producers, innovators and personalities. They were judged by a panel of industry experts including chefs, retail industry experts, food writers and BBC Radio personality Nigel Barden.
The Best Use of Local Produce accolade is the latest in a series of awards for Eric’s. In 2013, it was named the North East's Regional Restaurant of the Year by the Good Food Guide and Yorkshire Life’s Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year. Eric’s is also listed in the 2014 Good Food Guide and the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2014.
